STEP 2.) Connect the IP Camera to your network
Connect your IP Camera to your network ensuring that it is powered on (PoE or Power Adapter).
“Network” in this scenario refers to your Wi-Fi Router, PoE Network Switch, or Regular Network Switch with a power adapter connected to the camera.
STEP 3.) Search for your IP Camera
Open the Device-Config-Tool on your computer and click the “Search” button as shown in figure 1.
If connected properly, the camera will appear with its default IP address of 192.168.1.168 as shown in Figure 1. If the camera does not appear, check that the camera is powered on and connected to your network via a PoE Switch, or Router.

STEP 4.) Change camera IP Address to match your Local Network.
Using the Device-Config-Tool, select the camera and change the “Net Mode” on the bottom right corner to “DHCP”. Then click the “modify” button. After the software completes the changes, click the “Search” button one more time and note down the IP displayed in Figure 2.
STEP 5.) Connect to the camera using Microsoft Edge in Internet Explorer Mode
Lastly, open Microsoft Edge and enter the IP from the previous step into the web address bar.
You will receive following error message “This plugin does not support this browser.”, click the 3 dots on the top right of Microsoft Edge, and select “Reload in Internet Explorer mode” as shown in Figure 3.
After reloading, turn on the Internet Explorer Mode option “Open this page in Internet Explorer mode next time” and click the download text as shown in Figure 4.
After downloading, and installing the latest plugin, refresh the page one last time and click the Allow Button at the bottom of the window as shown in figure 5.
You will then be taken to the camera activation page, and asked to set your own password for the camera.
You may now log in using your set password.
After following these 5 steps, your camera is now activated and ready to be configured to your specific camera system. Set the IP of the camera to match the range of your current system and use the “ONVIF” protocol when prompted. The default username is “admin”, and the password will be what you set in step 5.
